I am going to be the first person to come out and say that a complication of short films such as the one on this disc have never and will never be my personal cup of tea. I have never been one to really get into what many would refer to as some sort of sadistic art form among a select group of people who enjoy short films and music videos that are part of The Severed Head Network DVD.

This DVD which was released by Elite Entertainment and created by Wicked Pixel Cinema contains eight pieces of short cinema and music videos all of which pertain to the artistic and bizarre art of using horror and the macabre as a form of artistic expressionism. The DVD includes titles such as Vomire, Faith in Nothing, Satisfaction, Unwanted, Victim, Sedgewick, Liontown and Curveball: Pile of Junk which is credited as being a music film.. Speaking of which I mentioned above; some are short films and others are music videos. so you get a combination of both.

Some of the films were better than others, but for the most part I really didn’t care for any of them. all of them were shot on either video or on black and white film, and the quality was very poor for the most part. I actully enjoyed the film that is part of the DVD menu at the beginning which is kind of shot like a silent film similar to the likes of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari and Nosferatu. However it does include a beautiful young women in the flesh, whom has a body to die for. A great use of eye candy to get the male viewer interested for what’s in store. Pretty much the majority of the films include some form of horror in them. There is also a lot of sexual content and a lot of nudity to the point where certain shorts can be considered porn films. Another reason why this is not my cup of tea.

Overall, I’ll be honest, I’m not the right person to really write a review for this collection of shorts. There are some people who enjoy films such as theses and I’d be lying if I told you I enjoyed them. These films are made for a particular group of people whom I think it’s safe to say are a small minority. Horror Review writer Cannibal Cam gave these film a good a review back in 2004, and his review was very positive. Weather it helps you better understand what these films are about then I advise you to read his review by going though our archives and finding it. I for one don’t care for films like this short review of mine states.
