Generally sci-fi films like this never interest me, they typically have two people talking about theories and so forth over and over that I always feel like I’m in a science classroom. However “The Radio Mechanics” is a short sci-fi thriller that only runs about 19 minutes long.

The story revolves around a radio host and a man claming to be a research scientist whom calls into the show. The scientist claims that alien will use radio signals to take over the world. Yeah it sounds kind of weird and yes there is plenty of talk between the characters about how and why the aliens would do such or thing. The plot is really basic in the sense that it has a story to tell and it gets the job done. But the dialogue could of been a bit better and the plot would of flowed better if some of the dialogue was cut shorter between all the theories being thrown back and forth.

The acting was pretty good, I was very impressed with the style and characterization each actor used in portraying their roles. The production value was perfect, some great filmmaking and some nice crystal clear shots, also the lighting was great. The special effects although basic looked good, I’ve seen a lot of low budget Sci-fi films with bad special effects, but this film has none of that, the effects here look good.

Overall “The Radio Mechanics” is a basic story with a lot of crazy dialogue. I think everyone would agree that it’s a very well made film. If your deep into aliens and theories about how they can take over the world this film is for you. I’m sure that most people would enjoy this film at film festivals as well.
