In all due respect, “Sorum” is a very well made film. The filmmaking is brilliant, the acting is great and everything about the film is good. It’s top notch filmmaking in all it’s glory and I’m sure anyone who has a deep apperception for Asian cinema will really fall in love with this film.

So you may be wondering why I gave this film such a low rating. Well as I mentioned above as far as filmmaking goes the film is a well made piece of cinema. However in terms of story I really had no interest in the plot at all. It’s a weird film that takes place in an apartment building. It about a guy who moves into a new apartment that has a unsettling past. The previous tenant has died mysteriously and everyone on the floor is somehow connected to the death. The new tenant begins to hang out and a an affair with a lady who lives a few doors down that begins to lead him down a dark path. Is the apartment haunted, or do the people of the building have something to do with the weirdness going on. That’s pretty much what it’s about, however to me it felt more like an exploitation film, without a large majority of nudity and gore. Yes there is plenty of nudity, but it’s done in good taste. Now where am I going with this; well I found the film to be boring. it’s just not my kind of film. Like I said it’s beautifully filmed, but it’s not the kind of film I myself enjoy.
