Sinful is a film that takes an odd approach to how some women who can’t conceive, actually go crazy. The director takes an artistic approach here, with a very dark atmosphere and the use of a very smooth yet frightful soundtrack. Sinful is a dark tale, a very dark one.

The film is pretty much about a women named Lilith (Misty Mundae) who’s been married to her husband for a while and she just cannot conceive. Because she is not able to bear a child, She slowly begins to go crazy after finding out her neighbor is pregnant. Her life pretty much is told to us throughout the story, as we see her troubles with her mother and her sadistic boyfriend. How much she misses her father, and how her own husband can’t seem to get it up when it comes to making love. Lilith begins to go mad and does some crazy shit because of the fact that she is not pregnant. But in her mind she is, and she won’t stop doing what she needs to do in order to have a child.

The script to this film is very dark. The mood is very dark, hell the film is overall just plan dark. It ones of those films where you really have to pay attention to what’s going on, you can almost say it very slow paced, but in fact the film gets the point across, and is actually very short. I guess the film is a whole is just overall creepy and unpredictable. It almost becomes kind of sickening after a while, because there is some many twists and turns that the plot alone can drive one mad. But overall in this aspect, the film does what it sets out to do, and it works.

The acting is pretty good, it again just proves my point that Misty Mundae is better than just a b-movie star, and has potential to be a decent actress. This is one of her better more serious roles, and yes she does get nude in the film. The other actors were good, but Misty Mundae stood out the most.

In terms of special effects, we really don’t get much. There is some blood and a bloody fetus but that’s about it. The film really took it’s overall fear from the mood rather than from effects and horrific scenes involving killing and such.

So pretty much “Sinful” is a film that takes an issue that most don’t think about, and puts a dark artistic spin on it. It’s not a film for everyone, but I think more or less art house liberals would go crazy over this film, as well as artistic filmmakers. It might not be a big gorefest of a film for fans of regular horror films or B-movie fans. I think this film just pertains to certain individuals, and is not for everyone.
