The film starts off kind of slow and is hard to understand at times, you really need to know a lot about history and religion to really understand some of the story.
However for horror and fantasy fans we get a real treat among all the religious stuff. Some really great gore and very original death scenes. One includes peeling the skin of an entire human body. In a way this film kind of reminded me of “Hellraiser”, except without Pinhead.
The film is about good vs. evil, and how even evil is within the church. The ending of this film is great and I was very happy with the way in ended. This is one film where the ending makes up for the rest of the film. I say if your into religion and history you’ll enjoy this film.
