“Underworld” was a film that pits Vampires against Werewolf’s (Know as Lycans in the film). The visual effects were really cool, and the art direction was brilliant. Costume Designs were also really cool. As far as acting goes it was not really that bad, Most of the actors were believable in their performances. Kate Beckinsale was perfect as Selene, great casting done there, that role was made for her.
As far as plot goes the story did have a few twists that after a while started to get to me, I mean there was not just one twist but many. In the end it all comes together but it did drive me a little crazy. We do however get some gore with this film, which helps it out a lot. my feeling towards the film are mixed, It’s one of those films that I liked it while I was watching it but I’m not sure I’d be able to sit though it again. If you ask me if I like “Blade” better the answer is yes. Either go see “Underworld” which you may or may not like or go rent “Blade” or “Blade 2”. As far as I’m concerned “Underworld” Is worth renting, but for the hardcore horror fans, you might want to see it in theaters. We also get a treat at the beginning of this film, The first trailer to Resident Evil 2.
