The good thing about “The Witch Who Came from the Sea” is that it’s a straight to the point film that runs just under 90 minutes. It’s straight to the point no bull shit in between and the film moves fast. However in terms of style the film was not my cup of tea.

The box cover although it looks cool is really far from what this film is about, no once did I se a witch like the one that dawns this DVD cover in the film. (Unless it happened when I got up to take a piss.) Anyway the film was produced in 1975, and you can tell by watching it by the style of clothes and lingo used back then. However the good thing about the DVD is that it’s perfectly restored and you have a nice clean picture instead of a grainy film look. Don’t get me wrong there is still some grain there but you can hardly notice.

In terms of story, I was kind of bored I mean it’s pretty much about a witch who throws bizarre sex parties and thinks that in fact she has powers and such. You really don’t know if it’s all in her head or if in fact she really does have evil powers. For the most part she goes around killing men. In a nutshell it was hard for me to really keep interest in the story.

In terms of acting, it was pretty good, I have no complaints. The special make-up effects were pretty bad, I guess for that time and budget they were pretty good, but being from an era where I was spoiled by the good effects of the eighties, I knew it was fake, and it looked it.

Overall, it’s a short paced little cult classic that I’m sure some people will enjoy, however it was not really my cup of tea. Although the special features on the DVD are not all that bad for what there worth.
