Alright, despite what all the critics have said and all the fanboy bashing, I could care less what any of them think. I loved this film. Sure it’s not no Oscar worthy film, but it was fun as hell, and I enjoyed in that space movie fashion that the original “Star Wars” films do for most people.
Riddick takes place five years after “Pitch Black” and for all of you curious fans of “Pitch Black” yes the other remaining survivors from “Pitch Black” are in this film. The film is about a superior race of people lead by Lord Marshal, whom are taking over planets and turning other humans into their kind. Riddick still a wanted man, gets caught up in the war and besides fighting them off he finds out more about his race and home planet.
This part was made for Vin Diesel, out of every character I’ve seen him portray on screen Riddick has got to be his best. The rest of the acting in the film is great as well, a great job casting this film. The effects are awesome, very straight up space like effects, better than the effects in the past two Star Wars films in my opinion. I loved the story, but thought some of the dialogue used could of been better. Some of the action scenes could of been toned down a little, they were very fast and hard to watch at times. But overall I had a blast watching this film it was fun and action packed, and well worth the money I spent to watch it. Check it out if you can, if you can’t I recommend picking it up on DVD when it becomes available.
