“Playhouse” is not a horror film that can be taken seriously, the reason why: It’s so dam funny as it is scary. I did not think at first I was going to enjoy this film, the fact that it took place in a theater turned me off at first. Then I saw how great the effects were, The quality of the video and the overall production value, Excellent! great acting, great effects, plenty of gore, great comedy, what more can you ask for.
The Film takes place in Pittsburg, PA in well a Playhouse/theater. What’s going on is that people that work and act in the theater are dying, dying of horrible deaths that is. We get a guy stuffed in a toilet, another guy twisted into pieces… you get the point. Well we follow a detective and two dumb cops along with a Scottish Janitor (At least that’s what I think he was.) around on an investigation, trying to solve the murders. Without giving anymore of the plot away, I just want to go on record as saying that this film has some great comedy in it. Just take notice of some of the things in the film you might recognize some things from other horror films.
Overall, great movie, I could see this film being picked up for a video release, the quality picture and sound, as well as the great acting make it an Indie film worth while. Check out the website listed above.
