“Metal Skin” is an award winning film from “Down Under” (Australia). The film was directed by Geoffrey Wright whom is probably best known for directing the film “Romper Stomper” starring Russell Crowe, “Cherry Falls” with Britney Murphy, and he just finished up shooting a film based on Shakespeare “Macbeth”. Now “Metal Skin” was praised by many, however I myself found the film to be just an alright movie.

Most of my issues with this film came from the script, I never really got the whole Satan Worship thing. I mean why the fuck was that part of this film, because that ugly looking wench wanted to do that Richard Grieco looking dude. I mean seriously, was that needed? And what about the poor guy known as Psycho Joe, now that was one hell of a character. I liked this character because he was like the Incredible Hulk, so dam unpredictable. But besides the fact that Psycho Joe was one hell of a character, for me the script felt like it was all over the place, and after watching the film I felt like I was left hanging at the end as to what the whole point of this film was.

On acting, the one thing I can give this film is that the acting was excellent. The actors in this film were great and where the direction shines most in this film is though the great performances of the actors. My hats are off to everyone involved in acting in this film.

In terms of effects, the film had a lot of great stunts, big car chases and so on. There is not much killing in the film but there are some odd moments in the film that involve some mutilation, also towards the end of the film there is a big bloody car battle where we get some major blood, but nothing to over the top.

Overall I can’t say that I really liked this film, nor can I say I didn’t like it. It had it’s good points and it’s lows, so overall I thought it was ok. Great Acting, but the script was bit choppy. If you like films with fast cars with a Mad Max type theme, you might want to check this film out.
