I don’t know how many times I’ve said this; But I’ve never been a fan of sexploitation films. jess Franco is considered one of the founders of the sexploitation film movement. He took a lot of heat from a lot of people and most of his film were blacklisted by some studios and banned in certain countries. Now my thing is this. I know back in the day a film like this was considered to revealing and disgusting. But seriously compared to the XXX pornos of today. This film has nothing on them. The only thing that separates a Sexploitation film from being a softcore porno is it has a plot, and you can obviously tell that the sex is simulated.
You should know by now that this review will be short. I mean how does one review a film that has more sex than story. Of course the two go hand and hand in this film, but the plot is obvious and the sex is well, just that sex.
So let’s put it this way, in a nutshell Macumba Sexual is about some decent looking blond chick who somehow is being controlled by though thoughts and dreams by some sex goddess. Eventually this chick starts to screw her husband and a bunch of other people, and from there; her and husband join this sex goddess and her sex slaves in orgies, Freaky threesomes, Lesbian fantasies and so on..
So yeah this film about a million different ways to screw a person or people. It’s a kind of like a midcore porno. It’s not soft or hardcore its in-between.
The acting, hell believe it or not, it’s not half bad. However it’s nothing great either. I don’t know if it’s really considered acting when your just having sex on film. However they are better actors than the ones we see in some of this pornos with plots today. And there not much in the way of special effects, so I won’t even go there.
Overall, if I want to watch porn, I’ll watch porn. Sexploitation my be for some people, but it’s not for me. Especially when the women in the movie look like their from the 1970’s-80’s with hairstyles like that how could I be attracted to them, If you like Sexploitation film, then I guess you’ll like this one. But not me. I prefer films with plots over porn.
