Recently Silman-James Press sent me a copy of horror director John Carpenter. Director of such great classic horror films a Halloween, The Thing, They Live, Assault of Precinct 13, Escape from New York and L.A., and In the Mouth of Madness.
The book is basically one big interview, it’s full of questions about John Carpenters life and each of his films. He discussing everything from Directing to writing, to all his films that did god and bad in the box office. He talks about his childhood, and how it relates to his films.
The book is well worth the read and is a book all inspiring film makers should pick up. I read the whole book in two hours during the 2003 East Coast Blackout, It helped pass the time and was a hard book to put down. I’d even recommend that film teachers require this book as a reading for their classes. Overall la great book that dives into the life of one of the greatest horror directors of all time.
