Chainsaw Sally is your basic B-movie with a throw back feel and homage to the b-movies days of the 70’s. You might even say it’s kind of a grind house kind of film with a comedy element. It’s not the best independent B-film I’ve ever saw, but for the kind of film it is, I must say that it was put together very well. This film had a few god things going for it. First thing is the far out storyline, not a story that some people might enjoy, but nonetheless it had a pretty well written plot that keeps your attention.

The film is about a girl named Sally, whom is a shy young girl who works in a Library, in a small town. When one of the local big shots dies, and leaves his land and estate to a relative. (I think it was his long lost nephew or something.) Anyway there is a local real estate developer who wants to build condo’s on this land. The problem is that Sally and her cross dressing brother Rudy are living in an abandon farmhouse on the land. However, (and I’ll have to back up here a bit on the plot.) we learn that Sally’s mother and father was killed by three murders in the past, we learn that Sally and Rudy’s first kills are actually in self defense. However after watching an allure of some of the better horror films we all know about, Sally becomes obsessed with killing anyone who threatens their land acting out scenes and fantasies from some of her favorite horror films.

The acting in this film was alright, but nothing great. In all honesty it really depended on the scenes and the actors involved. Some of it is decent and your able to pick out what actors are good, just alright or just plan bad. But in this feature you really can tell who was trying their best to do a half way decent job and actors who saw their role as nothing but a joke. In terms of effects we get all the gore and make-up effects golly we need to enjoy a low budget horror film. Plenty of gore and blood to go around

Overall, Chainsaw Sally is one of the better b-movies I’ve seen this year. It holds it’s own in terms of story and narrative. I think however it’s not a film that the basic person who just wants a scare will enjoy, I believe it’s a film that only true fans of B-movies and horror will enjoy.
