“Blade: Trinity” in a nut shell does not stand up to the two films before it. Not to say that this film did not have all the fun filled action the first two did, but on many levels this third installment did not do the other two film any justice at all , but become the weaker of the three films.
The story is pretty basic and take place pretty much where the last Blade left off, with Blade still out there killing off vampires one by one and so on, then he ends up killing a human by mistake and a group of vampire get it on camera, well from there it spins into Blade becoming a wanted Man/Vampire and not only having to avoid Vampires, but the FBI and police as well. So in a nut shell, shit hits the fan, more people die, blah blah blah, in comes Hannibal King and Abigail Whistler two young vampire hunters to help Blade fight the real Dracula, (The first Vampire on Earth who had been resurrected.) and so on…
It’s not that the story was bad, however the script and dialogue used by the actors turned me off and did not suck me into the film like the other two films did, There was a lot of unnecessary swearing, that I felt took me out of the film. It was way over the top Blade saying Mother fucker a few times over again made the character feel unreal. In my mind is Blade is supposed to be a disciplined martial artist I think he would curse less and bring on the action more. The jokes from Hannibal King were overused way to much and it took away from the horror of the film. The acting was decent, it’s not that it was bad the characters were likeable, but the dialogue was way to over the top to make this film believable. Some pretty good special effect just like the last two, but some over the top stuff could have been avoided such as a vampire dog.
Overall “Blade: Trinity” was not a great film, it had some great action scenes and a story that moved along just fine but it’s nothing to run to the theaters to go see, probably best if you wait until this one hits DVD.
