I have always prided myself on being that guy who reviews in the positive light of things. Sure I’ve ripped into a few movies pretty badly before, but nothing is about to compare to what I have to say about this movie; if that’s what you want to call it. Listen I understand the whole no budget thing. I’ve been there and have had my fare share of making movies that turned out to be not so great. the thing is we tried to make it look the best we could and didn’t settle for what we had. We tried to make it better, even if it wasn’t going to work out. With this film it seemed like no one believed in the project at all. Then I realized who directed the film and everything started to make sense.

BASELINE KILLER is about a group of women stuck in a warehouse with two guy are killing them off one by one. it’s supposed to be based on the true events that took place Phoenix Arizona where a serial killer a bunch of people and was dubbed the baseline killer after the name of the road where the killings started. The guy was arrested in 2006, but I guess he didn’t have a big enough name to be as well known as guys like Ted Bundy and Ed Gein. But pretty much the first line of this paragraph sums up the whole plot.

Ulli Lommel has directed and acted in a lot of movies. He wrote and directed this one. Like Uwe Boll he is from Germany. And yet he make Uwe Boll look like the Steven Spielberg of horror films. For those of you who though that Boll was the worst thing to come out of Germany since Hitler, Ulli Lommel has been hiding under the radar. I can’t say that all his films are bad, but this one takes the cake ten times over. I don’t have one nice thing to say about this movie. It’s script is all over the place, the acting is horrible, the style of film making is bad, and the editing is probably the worst in the history of cinema.

If there is anyone out there that watches this movie and thinks it’s good at all then hell has truly frozen over. I mean the majority of this movie revolves around a group of girl talking to one another for about a third of the movie. One of them is wearing a fake blonde wig that looks so bad on her I can’t even explain just how bad it looks. There are jump cuts everywhere with the editing, some of them so bad I thought the DVD was skipping in the player. I don’t understand why there where air drill sound effects put in the film every time the killer(s) showed up. They were are carrying guns, not power tools.. My, my my its just bad. folks. It just is.

Overall, I can’t recommend that anyone rent or buy this one, and I rarely say that. Unless you feel like torturing yourself for ninety minutes then take the risk. BASELINE KILLER has to be one of the worst horror films I’ve ever seen. Lets put it this way; it was so bad I thought Anston Kutcher was going to walk though my office door with a camera crew. That’s how bad it was.
