Alright when I saw the credits to this film I saw that there were two major Production companies behind this film so I was wondering why it did not get a theatrical release, I thought the trailer was pretty good, hell it’s what made me want to watch the movie. However After viewing the film I now know why they decided it would probably do good on DVD instead.

The movie starts out pretty good, I have to admit I enjoyed most of this film. It had my undivided attention for the whole ninety one minutes. however towards the end which is somewhat hinted throughout the film I was a bit disappointed, I was actually hoping for a better ending, but other wise it’s an alright movie.

The story is a bit weird but I really liked all the different characters in the film, especially all the crazies in the basement, the visual look and feel of the set, was creepy. I really liked the way things were set up production wise in the film, the style was great.

Acting wise the film had a few known faces and some fresh but know ones in the lead roles such as Joshua Leonard of Blair Witch fame. Overall the acting was alright, I felt it could of been a bit better. We do have small roles in the film from actors such as Lance Henriksen and Natasha Lyonne but they were only in supporting roles.

Effects wise we get a ghostly looking kid, that looks very similar to the kid from “The Devil’s Backbone”, A lot of blood, some creepy looking people, a head chopped in half by an ax and some other craziness. The effects were alright though, nothing that we really haven’t seen before.

Overall I enjoyed watching most of the film but the ending kind of ruined it for me, I understood what was going on but I felt it was not expressed well enough in the film and the final scene also did not do it for me. But other might disagree with me, so rent it if you must, it’s not so bad that you’ll end up shutting it off.
