“Nothing” is one of those rare gem direct to video films that you just can’t help but fall in love with. It’s not the greatest piece of work when it comes to making a great Hollywood feature, but it would be considered a great indie fantasy film. I personally had a blast watching this film, it was a breath of fresh air the night I watched it as I viewed about a half dozen other indie films.

“Nothing” is a about two friend both of whom live in the same house, and have know one another since they were kids. Life seems fine until one fatal day when they both find themselves on the other side of the law for crimes they never committed. Facing eviction from their house. They wish all their problems away. when they wake up from a tear gas attack on their house, they open their front door and notice that the world around them has simply disappeared .

I really liked this films plot, the script was decent but there were some things that could of been done better. But overall the story was good and I had a good time viewing this movie. The acting is not that bad, their were time when I found the characters to be a bit annoying, but then realized it’s all part of the plot. I guess being alone with your friend in a house in the middle of nowhere will do that to you. But overall the acting was not half bad and was effective enough to help keep the pace of the film good.

The CGI and special effects used in this film were really cool from beginning to end. I mean you know this film was shot all on a blue/green screen stage to make the “Nothing” effect. the whole film is driven on effects, and there pretty dam good at making the film believable.

Overall “Nothing” is a great film, that I hope will find a cult like audience. The film is from the director of the Sci-Fi, Horror film; “Cube” so in terms of great filmmaking you’ll see that “Nothing” is a top notch film. Check it out.
