My Review of “Seed of Chucky (DVD)
Well folks, I never really was a fan of the “Child Play” series, in fact I always found the films to be stupid. I did however enjoy “Bride of Chucky” to a certain extend and well “Seed of Chucky” I kind of thought was funny, But stupid at the same time. It’s a campy film, it’s not meant to be a serious horror film at all. It was full of jokes and surprises. Plenty of bad acting that was in fact good actors acting bad. You get the point, I hope! Some campy special effects, that were in fact good at times, mainly the make-up effects were good.
I hard to really say much about the film, I liked it, and hated it at the same time. The fact that Glenn/Glenda was a doll without any sex organs was a bit bizarre. But there is a joke to this as well as it was once an Ed Wood film. It was cool that there were jokes all over this film, it was a good laugh, but the scares were effected by it. Chucky was his usual self but this time around the film was not scary at all. Yes! It was, as I should put it a “Killer Comedy” but in my opinion is was more of a comedy with a horror twist.
The DVD is packed with plenty of special features, enough in fact to keep you glued to your Television set for hours. It’s well worth the buy for all the extras that come with it. But Overall as far as I’m concerned don’t think “Seed of Chucky” is going to scare the hell out of you. I think you’ll get more of a laugh than a scare.
