“The Voice Inside” is a very well produced shot film with some great looking photography and good production value despite it being shot on digital and given it’s black and white look. (Sorry but as film maker myself, I can tell the difference.) but the film does have an over all great look production wise.
I wish I can say the same for the story than I did for the production value, but I can’t. Although it is a short film and it limits it’s time as to make a good story happen, the story here is very simple. it’s pretty much about your inner voice, that crazy voice inside your head that comes out when you get angry and do something out of control, well the film is pretty much a “what if” that voice decided to take over your body one day and make you torture yourself in odd and disturbing ways without any help from medication or your inner self to help you out. well that’s what happens from beginning to end here. at first we just see the character of the film throwing up and getting sick, then he slowly does weird things to himself like burning his hands and face on a stove, then he does some crazy messed up shit that I just did not need to see on my Television. watching a guy put a hammer up his ass is not my cup of tea, and I’m sure I speak for most people when I say that. So yes the film is shot well and has great production value, but it’s to graphic for my liking.
