I’ve never read lunarpunk before, but the quirky, lovable, and charming young heroes of The Inn at the Amethyst Lantern melted my heart. This story is perfect for a rainy day and also a poignant and timely reminder of the climate change our planet is going through. The imaginative solutions humans have developed to combat climate change are astounding.

With Gentian leading her witty and snarky band of misfits to find the truth about what happened at the inn, they also discover how truly strong they are by themselves and as a group – a message every young person can use in today’s world.

Dotson’s writing is magical, beautiful, and innovative. Her world is one I want to step into and never leave. I wish I could visit Glimmerbight, if only for one night, just to take in the sights and see all the wonderful creatures the characters meet in the book. It would sit on my shelf right next to Alice in Wonderland and be a well-worn friend as a child.
