Caught in the Web: A Dark Web Horror Anthology
The Butchered Writers (2006)
Reviewed by Nora B. Peevy

This is the darkest book I have read in a long time. Hats off to all the authors for showing us the seedy underbelly of the dark web. From having to murder yourself on screen for money, to not knowing if your parents will rescue you and stop your torture, to physically becoming the dark web yourself and paying it forward to someone, and even a bit of African spider folklore there is a story in here for everyone.

Thankfully, the editor arranged the stories in such a way that by the time you get to the darkest ones, you’re already warmed up to enjoy them. The writing is dramatic, action-packed, emotive, and authentic. I really enjoyed this book and recommend it for those people who are looking for a fun, dark read. The Butchered Writers have put out another solid anthology. I can’t wait to see what they’re going to do next.
