The independent horror film market has been flooded with zombie films as of late, I mean they are popping up all over the web and are being shot in local neighborhoods all over the world. “Living Dead Lock Up” is one of those low budget Indie zombie films, and yes indeed it has it’s flaws but is overall an entertaining little action zombie flick.

The film takes place in a prison, where our main character has been sentenced to serve time for stealing cars. what he soon begins to find out is that something weird is going on in the prison as some of the inmates begin to turn into flesh eating zombies. Along with his cell mate Miguel, they must try to break out of the prison before joining the ranks of the undead.

The script does has it’s flaws and the film’s pacing is a bit slow at times, but one can’t help but realize how the filmmakers utilized all of their resources to make this film look as good as they possibility can with a budget that was probably no more than a few hundred bucks. I mean you don’t have the best acting, and you don’t have by any means any great special effects at all. But the film has a pretty well rounded simple story, and if you can look past all the flaws of this independent no budget feature zombie film, you will be able to enjoy it for what it’s worth.

Overall it’s a pretty good effort by the filmmakers. It’s not a great Hollywood Zombie fest, but compared to most of the low budget zombie crap out there, “Living Dead Lock Up” is straight to the point. It could be a lot shorter, but none the less, it’s not a bad effort.
