Ok so I saw the American remake before the original, Now I’m no longer guilty of not seeing it. Unlike The Ring, which I liked the American version better than the original, it’s quite the opposite here. Ju-on is so much better than it’s American remake on so many levels.
The plot and screenplay are stronger, we have a faster smoother plot and no Bullshit scenes that don’t need to be there holding back the story. Ju-on is fast paced all scares and straight to the point. The acting is great and the effects although simple work very well with bringing the tension and scares right to you. The story is not that much different than the remake except for a whole different ending, of which I thought was better. I really don’t have much to say but that it is a movie that holds its own. Fan’s on the remake now out in theaters will probably enjoy this one as well if not they will enjoy it more. It’s now available here in the US for sale and for rent in your local video store.
