Here we go again. Yet another fine retro eighties classic from Camp Motion Pictures. This time it’s Ghoul School, which was not really released in the eighties but was probably filmed in the 1989 and then released in 1990. Still though it’s got the same campy karma that that both Cannibal Campout and Woodchipper Massacre have, only this time Ghoul School has a lot more gore guts, and guys in Speedo’s. Yeah Unfortunately for us there are zombies running around in Speedo’s. What’s one to do.
So in a nutshell Ghoul School is basically about two criminals who release toxic chemicals into a high schools water supply. Any one who drinks, swims or even washes their hands becomes a flesh eating zombie. Now two nerds and a heavy metal band must try and save the school from the flesh eating swim team and anyone else that has turned into a ghoul.
I for one know how bad these films really are, however the thing that Camp Motion Pictures is doing right is that they are releasing films that are so over the top campy that although the overall quality of the films are bad and extremely low budget. They pick the ones with the good over the top stories. Ghoul School is a bad film by all means when comes to acting, effects, and the overall film itself. But it’s so bad that it’s good; and in that matter the story is at least fun to watch. And that’s why I have nothing but a good time when viewing films such as this one.
Overall, Ghoul School is right up there with Camp Motion Pictures first two releases Cannibal Campout and Woodchipper Massacre. I really enjoy these cult b-movie classics from the eighties, and even if you can’t stand to watch the B-movies of today, I guarantee that you’ll have a much more different experience watching film from the eighties. Just simply because there so much campier and better.
