Despite some positive reviews I read about this film, If or one am not going to be one of those people. Despite the great title and box cover, I was not all impressed by this Japanese made film. Now it’s not like those under produced no budget straight to video films you pick up at blockbuster, the film has great production value, however in terms of pacing and keeping my attention; that’s another story.
“Doppelganger” starts out alright and kept me somewhat interested, then after a while I kind of got confused watching the film and it totally just lost me. It got to be very long and dragged out to the point I felt like shutting it off, But I bared with it till the end, The very end.
In a nutshell the film is about an inventor/scientist who happens to be working on an invention that can help disabled people, well he comes face to face with his doppelganger, his real life look-a-like. However in terms of personality they are exact opposites. One being good and the other just plan bad.
The film is pretty well produced and the acting is decent, however in terms of plot and story the film is al lover the place and hard to follow. I got bored with it really fast, and the ending of the film got so crazy I just felt like shutting it off.
Overall I was not a big fan of this one, Some might disagree with me, but I just didn’t dig it. Not my kind of film at all.
