Oh Mr. Dick Randall. Already, Mondo releasing one of his earlier works entitled The French Sex Murders. A film freak who has worked on all sides of the crew. He wrote J.P. Simons Pieces. Worked on Night Of The Blind Dead. Don’t Open Till Christmas, Emmanuelle 3, Master with Cracked Fingers (Jackie Chan’s earlier works), Frankenstein’s Castle Of Freaks, and tons and tons more. This guy was a wiz, and he was from Ontario Canada. Right on, fellow Canadian. He brought films out that really shocked the nation, and introduced to as well. He produced this necro number which really, was his last working film. He passed in 96’. See what he left for his remaining fright fest….

Howard (Mark Jax) works at a Morgue. He has a fascination with Christine, a floral shop attendee in the hospital where Mark passes everyday, and dreams of. One day working late, a body stumbles in that will shock Howard forever. Christine is dead, and to top things off, he assists with the autopsy then later finds out after rummaging through her purse she has a rare form of catalepsy which makes him think she is really not dead. He helps out the luscious corpse to his apartment and the relationship begins, Necromantik style. Not as grim but still dark as hell. That’s the whole story folks, fun dead lovin’, horror style.

It is somewhat of a yarn but with its heaping fulls of dead body lovin’, this movie matains a creepy pace which Mark Jax truly helps out with. Wait till you see Christine at the end of the movie. Mmmmmmmm, yummy.

This is a fantastic package. What I mean by fantastic is you get to see Dick Randall himself tell us how to make a horror film. Himself and Edmund Purdom (Pieces, Don’t Open Till Christmas) chat it up and show us some behind the scenes on Don’t Open Till Christmas, an almost hour long doc which takes us into the life of the set. Seems like a joke until Edmund shows his mug and the Santa’s begin to take shape. My favorite of the extras contained on this disc. Also included is an interview with Mark Jax, Paul Hart-Wilden. Featurette of David McGillivray diary, A bonus short entitled Horrorshow, original Trailer and a Huge stills and poster gallery. Simply the best of the genre, well, shlocky style, and these behind the scenes will help you out a little in your adventure into horror behind the scenes. Mondo, you do good DVD’s, ha ha.
