With the box office success of  INDIANA JONES AND THE LEGEND OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL it's a no brainer that many people want to know if the legends of the skulls do exist or not. Are they based on a real legend? Or are they something that just the filmmakers made up.  Well, the fact is that there actually are real crystal skulls in the world, and this documentary put out by Smithsonian Networks is one that seeks the truth behind the origin of the world crystal skulls. 

   LEGEND OF THE CRYSTAL SKULLS follows a group of scientists and archeologists as they attempt to prove weather or not the  skulls are the work of an ancient alien civilization who gave the Aztec or Maya civilizations the skulls, or are they man made by the people who have found them. This Documentary answers those questions as well as goes into detail about the stories surrounding the

people who found the skulls during their expeditions in South America.

   To be honest, this is a very hard DVD to review without giving away to much of the answers to the questions presented in this film. Some people might be shocked by the answers, while other might not be; but all I can say is that we do get answers in this documentary, which when we're talking about the unknown, and documenters on the unknown we never really get a definite answer.  With this documentary we get the majority of them.

   Overall, while I can't really say much without giving away the majority of what this documentary tries to resolve in relation to the real Crystal Skull history; I will go on record as saying that it's a very interesting documentary and it kept my interest.  For fans of the Indiana Jones movies who want more information on the legend of the crystal skulls this is the documentary for you. Even if your not a fan of the film, but are into legends or archeology this is a documentary that displays how great research is done in the filed and how many artifacts are indentified using technology and history.
