"Wolf Creek" is another horror film direct from Australia, however what "Wolf Creek" has that other Australian horror films of recent don't is that it is a very tense film, that breaks all the rules set by a horror film.

      The first act of this film is pretty much straight up in your face character development. Personally I though there was a bit too much character development, and I really got a bit irritated with the film for the first half hour or so. Then it got to be a lot like your favorite 1970's kind of grind house like film.  The difference between this horror film and a film like "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is that "Wolf Creek" does not have one moment where you feel like your going to laugh.  Once the killing starts the tension is never broken by some smart ass remark or a funny sentence. NO! The tension in this film feel like it's going on forever.

      "Wolf Creek" does not have the best acting in the world, if you watch the film for the first half hour, it seems like a really bad b-movie, the characters that are being developed for doom, seem like your local teenage/college kids who just want to party al the time.  However when the terror does begin, the actors in this film become real.  An actor must show fear to make a viewer actually believe that they are in situation where their lives are at risk. And in this film, the actors do a great job at developing the fear in the audience. I also must point out that the killer in the film as well is one hell of an actor.

     This film is full of a lot of effects.  There are plenty of dead bodies and rotten corpses. Brains splattered on a road side, people getting shot, crucified, you name it.  If your looking for a film with plenty of gore, "Wolf Creek" is one for you, and the effects look very real.

     Overall, the DVD includes a bunch of goodies including director, producer and actor commentary, deleted scenes, a making of documentary, which is pretty cool, plus many more features.  "Wolf Creek" is a balls to the wall terrifying flick.  In fact I have to amend my 2005 top ten list to include "Wolf Creek" It did not make a big splash in it's limited release in theaters, But I feel as times goes on, that this film will become a cult classic among horror fans.
