With a promising cover and decent sounding plot, I thought it would be an average little zombie flick. Once again, I was wrong to "judge a book by its cover." After being bullied at work, Josephine quickly becomes aware that there is a problem. Her coworkers are snatched and killed right in front of her. Being chased, she avoids the killers and goes home to her husband. While sleeping, a pack of zombies break into their home and kidnap her husband. She's off to find him when she is kidnapped and strung up, ready to become the zombies dinner. From there, she escapes and ventures into the woods. After a bunch of chasing, she discovers that the flesh of the deceased are being shipped to a meat packing company. Will she find her husband before he's made into a meat pie? The effects are terrible. The so-called zombies look like extras from The Fast and The Furious with red food-coloring on their shirts. They talk and act just like a street gang; the difference being they eat guts. The guts eaten looked like bologna and sausages. Rubber knives and CGI gunshots also made this a dud. The movies soundtrack was just hip-hop. I don't even care for heavy metal in a horror movie, much less rap music. Acting was the same as the effects. Fake and terrible. I saw a few of the zombies laughing while trying to grunt. Others fell over and grabbed their stomach when the gun was fired. Have they not heard of shooting the scene over again? Overall this was a bad case of false advertisement. Zombiez just proves that hip-hop belongs in a club, not in a horror movie. -Johnny Chimpo |
