Synopsis
Tough cop Ken Li (Ekin Cheng) is at the top of his game, but still needs some help to solve a grisly crime that the offender, a respected police officer, doesn’t even remember committing. Li seeks out Jack Lai (Leon Lai), a former psychologist, now disgraced and behind bars, who possesses an uncanny ability to bend people to his will. Forming an uneasy truce, this unconventional duo sets out to find the man responsible, a master hypnotist who will stop at nothing to exact his revenge.

In the likes of Tartan Films latest release "OldBoy" (which has more blood and horror than this film does.) "Heroic Duo" has some great fight scenes. There is some gore but nothing really over the top, mainly a lot of shootings and people getting their heads blown off. Nothing really crazy.  What I found to be great was the format it followed, like "Oldboy" We don't get a happy ending in this film. It's more "real life" related, and not everyone goes home happy.

The acting is pretty good as well as the directing, The screenplay although slow at times is pretty good as well. There is a lot of dialogue in the scenes. the film pretty much explains itself as it moves forward, but we get a good mixture of both action and drama.

Overall it's not a bad film. It's not a horror movie, it's more of an action flick, but well worth watching.
