Like I have said a few times before. It is hard to initially get into a vampire flick. Sure there is usually seductive woman exercising their bodacious bodies but that isn’t enough for me. I threw this in just to check out the first few minutes and whacked are we. This flick is in German with English Subtitles so if you are turned off by the site of words jumping across the screen, or the fact that you half to read and watch at the same time which interrupts the flow of the movie then please keep moving and do not bother. Anyways, This masked executioner comes up behind a vampire who just finished suckling himself a little plasma from his trunk and stabbo, a nice jab to the side of the face. Blood pours profusely. He tries to flee but after a hit like that, you are meat. Another nice jab to the back and up with his head and guuuuuush. Into the back out the front of his neck in very bloody detail. Fiendishly colorful and oddly gritty due to the 8 mm film used for this grisly blood sucker.

Now starts with a female vampire living with probably one of today’s next up and coming author of literature horror. He does interviews, press, the whole ball of wax. He produced the Night Stalker books, a series of, well, a Night Stalker. He learns from his girlfriend all he needs to know about the baiting, feeding, hunger, etc… He is right along side his inspiration. But she is not happy. She never choose to be one, she wants to be brought back to a normal life and forget all the gruesome handiwork she spreads out. So he searches for inspiration for the book and clues to how you could change back. One thing lead to another and soon, a trail is soon found and the quest begins.

I never usually go into detail about a movie since I don’t want to spoil what I already know. It; you who has to go and find more about this. It’s all in German so I was given an instructional translator for my menu checking. Includes a documentary, Bloopers, Trailers, Featurette and then some. I really dug this flick. It totally reminded me of say early to middle 70’s gritty exploitation films of the time. Drive n Massacre, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Prowler (even though  that’s later, it still looks it).  All in all, I was quite impressed with the whole scheme of things and the freshness of it all. I like the concept, new but old stories intermixed with the styling of Goth and Metal fashion. I especially like the club scene with this death metal band Aardvark playing live. Wicked flick.
