If I could describe "Saw" it's a film that takes the setting and style of "Se7en" a serial killer with smarts like Hannibal Lector and the dark gloomy feelings of those dark eighties horror films were the darkness of the film alone scares you, and combines them all into a sick and twisted story, that will take you for one hell of a ride.

"Saw" is original, what it lacks in some areas it makes up for in the plot alone. The plot and the script are what make this film good.  The story has some many twists and turns that will lead you into thinking you'll know the way it will end, but let me tell you this, The film is so twisty that you'll leave the theater with a smile on your face knowing you just saw probably one of the best endings to a horror/thriller ever shown on celluloid. That's all I'm going to say, it's a story that will take you on a rollercoaster ride.

The acting is not the best, but it's over shadowed by the plot. I thought it was just me who picked up on the poor acting but many people I've talked with said the same thing. However it's over shadowed big time to the point where a normal person watching the film will see right past it.

The effects were pretty good, You can tell for rating reasons that most of the gore was cut from the film, but the ideas that make the effects come to life are sick and twisted and whatever is left up to your imagination will leave unsettling images in your mind, and feeling running though your body.

Overall I don't want to get into the plot to much, I don't want to ruin it for anyone, but it's a horror film that is a must see in theaters. It's not as scary as it is intense, but it works. The story is just plan excellent, a lot of thought went into making this film and the hard work shows. Get your ass to theaters and check it out.
